About FUJI SCHOOL

Q, What kind of school is FUJI SCHOOL?
Lessons at FUJI SCHOOL emphasize "conversation skills". No matter how much grammar and vocabulary you memorize, if you do not know which situation you would use, you cannot use these in your real life conversations. No matter which level you are at, we aim for you to be able to communicate in Japanese as best you can at your level. You can learn "functional Japanese" that can really be used in your real life more than you can learn with Japanese text book.Paragraph. 
Q, Can I take lessons at work or home?
Yes, you can.
If it is not convenient for you to commute us, you may take lessons at our FUJI SCHOOL Telecourse. Or we may be able to visit your office for your lessons, please feel free to contact us.

Q, How to park?
Unfortunately our building has no parking lot.
However a lots of parking meters are available on the streets, take coins and credit cards. The rate is 60min for $1.5 / $2 / $3 depend on the street. Please take a look at parking information.

​About Enrollments

Q, When can I start studying at FUJI SCHOOL?
For courses, we have 4 terms a year. For existing courses, you can start immediately if your Japanese language level suits the course. For private lessons, whenever you can start.
Q, Can I start the middle of courses?
Yes, you can. You may take lessons for some chapters, which we have already done, at our FUJI SCHOOL Telecouse before you join from the middle of courses. Or you may take catch up lessons if you suit our teacher’s schedule. After that you will be able to pull up to regular students.

Q, Is there any age restriction?
No, there is no age restriction.

About the trial lesson

Q, How many times can I take the trial lesson?
Under normal circumstances, we offer one trial lesson before asking you to register as a student.
Q, What will I do in the trial lesson?
​In a trial lesson, you can see you like our teaching style or not, we will also evaluate your Japanese level and will give you suggestions as to which courses may best suit your needs.

About lessons and materials

Q, How long are the lessons?
Each lesson is 70 min.
​
***catch up lessons are 50 min.
Q, How many students are in the classes?
There are a small number of students. (usually 2-8)
Q, How will you evaluate my Japanese prior to starting lessons at FUJI ONLINE SCHOOL?
​We take pride in being able to provide each student at our school with a curriculum based on their strengths and interests. We would be happy to consult with each student before the trial lesson or registration, simply contact us. Of course will also evaluate your Japanese level during the trial lesson and will give you suggestions as to which courses may best suit your needs.
Q, I don’t speak Japanese at all, can I still take lessons?
​Yes, of course you can. Everyone has to start somewhere! We will consider your level and provide you with an appropriate course.
Q, What is the difference between once a week and twice a week courses?
​Even once a week course, you learn all chapters. The second lesson of each week for twice a week courses, you acquire with reviewing what you learned at the first lesson of the week such as listening and reading exercise.
Q, What is in the curriculum?
​The curriculum for the Beginner, Intermediate, and Pre-Advanced courses will focus on acquiring new vocabulary and learning how to use these new words appropriately in a conversational setting. The goal for these courses will be to increase your comfort and confidence in spoken Japanese. The Pre-Advanced reading courses will focus on grammar and vocabulary acquisition through text based work. You will be asked to learn expressions and do speaking/pronunciation drills related to the text.

Q, What do I study in the advanced courses?
​We use a variety of everyday materials, such as newspaper, books and magazines. This way we will step away from the structure of the textbook and expose you to a variety of texts that exists in daily life in Japan. This is a great way to learn non-textbook vocabulary and keep up to date with slang and regional dialects. Please contact us with any requests.
Q, Can I study for JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) ?
​Yes, you can. 
Please take private lessons. Also We plan opening JLPT preparation courses before the exam day.
Q, What materials are used in class?
​Our primary textbook is “Minna no Nihongo”. If you have another textbook or any other material you would prefer to use, please contact us.
Q, How can I get an official certificate of completion?
​FUJI SCHOOL offers a certificate of completion with the successful completion of an end of course test in any of the basic through advanced courses. If you pass an exam, you will receive a course certificate of completion.

About teachers and staff

Q, What can I do if I don’t get along with the teacher? 
You can bring up any concerns to us anytime before and after the registration.
Q, Can the teachers speak English?
​Yes, we can.
Our goal is to provide you with an immersion environment and teach the entire lesson in Japanese! You may wonder if that’s possible at the beginner level, but don’t worry! Our teachers are specially trained to provide easy to understand instruction in an immersion (all-Japanese) environment.

About being late or absent

Q, What if I am late for the class? 
​Unfortunately, we can not refund your money if you are late or absent.
Q, Can I retake the same lesson if I am absent?
​​Yes, you may take a Make up lesson Or if you suit teacher's schedule, you may be able to take a catch up lesson at school. Please feel free to contact us. (***need to pay extra $30 for it)

​​About tuition fees and methods of payment

Q, How can I pay the tuition fees?
​You can pay by cash, check, credit card or money order at school. Or all tuition fees can be paid online from here for your convenience.
Q, When do I pay the tuition fee?
​You will be asked to pay before your lessons.
Q, When do I pay the enrollment fee?
We would ask that you pay for the enrollment fee after your trial lesson. You will be asked to do so after filling out the registration form at school or our website. Please pay the entrance fee at school or here after you received our confirmation.
Q, How much are textbooks?
After having registered and paid the entrance fee, we will provide the appropriate handouts. You do not need to buy textbooks. However we sell them at school, if you wish, please feel free to contact us.
Q, Can I get money back if I quit?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible for a refund.
